I really hate to be ‘that guy’, Mr Brevoort. So, sorry for this. But if you’ll allow me to put on my pedant hat for a brief (and respectful) moment, the Black Knight and Captain Britain stories which were printed in the UK published Hulk Comic actually came a good few years after Captain Britain’s debut. He debuted in the Captain Britain Weekly series, which began in 1976. Hulk Comic began publishing three years after that.
So yes, I guess this means 2016 is the 40th anniversary of Captain Britain. :)
One of the central things I enjoyed about those Black Knight and Captain Britain stories (which I was so happy you guys collected in hardcover a few years back) was that at the start of those stories Brian Braddock was living as hermit with amnesia, unaware of his role as Captain Britain. It was a great way to introduce new readers to a character, discovering himself again as his memories returned.
